About

I began the St. Johns Reading Clinic after ten years as an elementary school classroom and reading support teacher in both public and private schools.

During my first year of teaching, I fell in love with teaching reading – the idea that I could teach children to READ and open the world of books to them! It’s an amazing and complicated process that I wanted to learn more about.

I also realized that so many students struggle with this process and the traditional styles of teaching were just not working.  I received my Masters in Reading and spent my days in the classroom learning and perfecting strategies that helped my readers of all ages and struggles. I hold my Elementary Education Certification 1-6 with a Reading Specialist Endorsement. My education continues as I take graduate level courses in Dyslexia , general reading, special education, ADHD, and more. Additionally, I have received my certification for the Barton Reading and Spelling Program for Dyslexia.

My goal is to help your child be as confident and successful in literacy skills as possible in the classroom and independently.
